Erica Balfour is the owner/manager of Mindfulness Kilkenny and has a background in science and research. She has worked Marketing and in Banking and latterly came to a career in psychotherapy. Erica has a Diploma in Counselling Skills from the National University of Ireland at Maynooth and a Post Grad Diploma in Psychotherapies from UCD School of Medicine. She has completed her training as a Mindfulness Teacher with ‘Teach Mindfulness’, an organization who are based in London. Erica has also been trained to teach the Paws.b course (Mindfulness in Schools Project), a mindfulness curriculum for children aged between 7-11years old. She has also completed Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy professional training day with Rebecca Crane, Bangor University, as well as other training from Cindy Cooper, Tony Bates, Helen Byrne, Josephine Lynch, Alvina Cassidy and more. Erica is also continuing to develop her skills by undertaking a Professional Diploma in Mindfulness Based Interventions from the Mindfulness Centre for Professional Training Ireland. Erica been meditating for many years and has a daily mindfulness practice and sees the positive effects of mindfulness in her life everyday. Erica nurtures her enthusiasm & continued professional development by regularly attending workshops and retreats.
